End-of-Line Automation Solutions
Weighing, Labelling, Inspection & Data
Six solution directions, organised by the problem on your line – not by machine count
NCN combines weighing, label data, print-and-apply labelling, AI vision, quality inspection and software interfaces into deployable automation solutions for the food packaging end of line. Equipment configuration, throughput and inspection targets are subject to sample testing, site conditions and the technical agreement.
A single food packaging line often needs several modules at once. We start from the core problem, then decide whether to extend into weighing, AI, inspection and data systems.
Six solution directions
- Food online print and apply – online printing and application of variable labels for cartons, trays and bags, synchronised with line throughput and the host system.
- AI recognition weighing and labelling – AI identifies the product first, then automatically selects the label template before weighing, printing, labelling and data collection. Suited to multi-SKU and mixed production.
- AI vision quality inspection – automatic re-check of labelling results, including label presence, count, position, OCR, barcode and QR code, with alarm, rejection and data logging.
- Weighing and quality inspection – online weighing and weight-based quality control, combinable with metal detection, vision inspection, rejection and production data recording.
- Food packaging end-of-line automation – extends from single machines to system integration, combining weighing, printing, labelling, inspection, robotics, scanning and data interfaces.
- MAP packaging weighing and labelling – for MAP trays and variable-weight food: product identification, dynamic weighing, real-time label generation and automatic labelling after packaging, with optional vision re-check and MES/ERP connection.
How to choose
- You need variable labels printed online – start with food online print and apply, together with order, SKU and template management.
- Mixed products need automatic judgement – start with AI recognition weighing and labelling, letting the recognition result drive template, weighing and downstream actions.
- You worry about wrong, missing or insufficient labels – start with AI vision quality inspection to re-check after labelling.
- You need weight and quality judgement – start with weighing and quality inspection, adding rejection, metal detection or vision as required.
- You need whole-line automation and data – plan equipment, throughput, interfaces and traceability under end-of-line automation.
- Every MAP tray has a different weight – review the MAP packaging weighing and labelling solution, confirming the continuous flow from pack discharge through identification, weighing, label generation and application.
- You simply need a weighing and labelling machine – go to the weigh-price labeller product page and select by product, weight, label and throughput.
System architecture
The point is not “more machines is better”. It is making each module cooperate under the right throughput and data logic.
- Identification / task – AI recognition, order or SKU data.
- Weighing / inspection – acquire weight and quality data.
- Printing / labelling – generate the variable label and apply it.
- Vision re-check – confirm label and barcode results.
- Data linkage – recording, traceability and MES/ERP interface.
Engineering projects need defined boundaries
Product dimensions, weight range, packaging material, label position, throughput, site space, exception handling, inspection items and data interfaces all affect the final solution. For AI recognition, vision inspection and dynamic weighing, we do not recommend committing to fixed performance figures without samples and site conditions.
FAQ
Can we start with one module and extend later?
Yes. Many projects begin with a single weighing or labelling station and extend into AI recognition, vision inspection and data integration as requirements grow.
Can the solution work with equipment from other vendors?
Yes, provided interfaces and control signals are defined. NCN regularly integrates with existing conveyors, packing machines, labellers and inspection devices.
How long does an evaluation take?
It depends on how complete the product information is. With photos, dimensions, weight range, throughput and label samples, an initial direction can usually be judged quickly.
Do you provide sample testing?
Yes. Sample testing and technical evaluation are the recommended way to confirm configuration and performance before committing to a project.
Is MES/ERP integration included?
It is available as a project option, covering data recording, traceability and interface development according to your system requirements.
